Our first ever conference in 1NCEBS2009 Shah Alam

After being incubated since 2010 at the Centre for Environment-Behaviour Studies (cE-Bs), the Assoc. of Malaysian Environment-Behaviour Researchers (AMER), a Malaysian research organisation was finally formalised (updated 2017) with the Malaysian Registrar of Society (RoS) on 27th January 2012 (Reg. No: PPM-009-10-27012012).  AMER membership is open to all nationalities.living in Malaysia or abroad. Response shall be automatic, with membership numbers generated for new applications.

The initial Association of Behavioural Researchers on Asians (ABRA) is an international research organisation formalised with the Malaysian Registrar of Society (RoS) on 20th October 2014 (Reg. No: PPM-034-10-20102014), with AMER being the Permanent Secretariat.  AMER members are also automatic members of ABRAmalaysia. Initially, the ABRA member countries are represented by seven member nations, namely, Egypt, Indonesia, India, Iran, Malaysia, Taiwan, and Turkey. Commencing 10 Jun 2020, ABRA is renamed as the Association of Behavioural Researchers on Asians/Africans with the inclusion of two new member countries, namely Morocco and Nigeria.

Unfortunately, ABRA was deregistered on 28 Mar 2023 due to not being able to hold their AGM since its formation till 2019, despite being able to hold its AGM virtually from 2020-2023. It should be noted that the AGM before the Covid 19 was difficult to be held due to the travelling expenses burden among the international members in attending the meetings physically.
